1. How we are funded
MeridianReview is funded entirely by affiliate commission. We do not charge readers, we carry no display advertising, we do not sell data and we take no money from any public body. Commission is our only revenue.
We publish this prominently — in the strip above every page, on every brand card, on every review, and here in full — because a reader cannot judge a review properly without knowing how the publisher gets paid.
2. What a commercial link is
Some outbound links to casino brands carry a tracking parameter that identifies MeridianReview as the referring publisher. If you follow one and go on to register and deposit, the operator pays us a share of its revenue or a fixed fee, under an agreement made in advance.
These links are marked in three ways:
- Visibly, in the text next to every "Visit" button: "18+ · Commercial link · T&Cs apply".
- In the disclosure strip that appears at the top of every page on this website.
- Technically, with rel="sponsored nofollow" on the link itself, which tells search engines the link is commercial.
Following one costs you nothing. The commission is paid by the operator out of its own marketing budget. You are never charged more, and never offered less, because you arrived from here.
3. What commission does not buy
This is the part that matters, so it is a list rather than a paragraph.
- It does not buy a score. Scores come from the six weighted categories on the How We Rate page and from evidence recorded during testing.
- It does not buy a ranking position. Order is set by score, and by nothing else.
- It does not buy inclusion. No brand appears here until its domain has been found on the Gambling Commission public register.
- It does not buy a softer conclusion. Every criticism in every review was published exactly as written, including on brands that pay us.
- It does not buy approval of copy. No operator sees a review before publication, and no operator has the right to request a change to one afterwards.
- It does not buy protection. If a brand met any of the disqualifying criteria on the How We Rate page, we would remove it from this website regardless of what it pays.
4. The separation we keep
Commercial agreements are negotiated by one person at MeridianReview, who takes no part in testing, writing or scoring. Reviews are researched, written and scored by others, who are not told the commercial terms and are not told which brand pays more. Scores are checked by an editor against the evidence log before publication, again without sight of the commercial terms.
This is not a difficult separation to maintain with two brands. We describe it here so that it is on the record, and so that you can hold us to it as the number of brands grows.
5. Both brands we currently review
For complete transparency: we have a commercial arrangement with both brands reviewed on this website — Gatobet and Jesterbet. Both operate under the same UK Gambling Commission licence, 039335-R-319313-020, held by ProgressPlay Limited.
The scores differ (Gatobet 4.6, Jesterbet 4.4) because the testing produced different results, and each review states plainly where we think the brand falls short.
6. Brand names and logos
Brand names, wordmarks and logos shown on this website belong to their respective owners. We reproduce them only to identify the brand under review, which is lawful descriptive use. Their presence does not imply that the owner endorses MeridianReview, or that we endorse the brand beyond what the review text expressly says.
If you own a mark reproduced here and object to its use, write to hello@meridianreview.co.uk and we will respond within two working days.
7. What we refuse
- Paid guest posts, sponsored articles and link insertions. We publish no content written by anyone outside MeridianReview.
- Payment in exchange for a ranking position, a score, a badge or an award.
- Pre-publication approval of a review by the brand it concerns.
- Any arrangement we would be unwilling to describe on this page.
8. Accuracy of offers
Bonus terms, payment methods and withdrawal times change without notice. Every review states the date it was verified. Where anything here differs from the operator's own current published terms, the operator's terms apply. Always read them before opening an account or accepting an offer.
9. Regulatory context
This disclosure is made to comply with the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, Competition and Markets Authority guidance on hidden advertising, and the CAP Code as it applies to affiliate marketing. Advertising for gambling in the UK must also be socially responsible and must never be directed at under-18s or at people who have self-excluded — obligations we take as binding on this website as they are on the operators themselves.
